Labdanum, extracted from the Cistus Ladaniferus bush in southern Spain, is a precious resin that is favoured by heat and drought. Prized by perfumers for its captivating fragrance and by healers for its healing properties, it was a symbol of the spiritual fertility of the Egyptian gods. It was used as an invisible amulet and also believed to enhance telepathy and clairvoyance abilities, according to a tradition inherited from ancient Egyptians and Jewish tribes, according to which it allowed one to connect with one's spiritual self and better face life's challenges.
