Gin and tonic

The humble Gin & Tonic has been around for decades, but 2014 saw a definite upsurge in fondness for the cocktail.

In 1825, British officers had already started mixing gin into their daily serving of tonic and inadvertently invented a powerful precursor to the classic Gin & Tonic. The tonic of the time, however, with its high dose of quinine, was a cure for malaria, and the gin was meant to offset the unpleasant very bitter taste.

Today's gin & tonic cocktail is radically different. Find the recipe for the Tessellis London Dry Gin perfect serve here:

Recipe

  • 40 ml Tessellis Gin
  • 180 ml Tassoni Tonic
  • 1 orange segments or zest

This refreshing combination will work at any time of the year. You can find our recommended Tonica Tassoni tonic in our shop. It is a tonic that does not contain quinine, but rather quassia tree bark extract. The delicate bittersweet flavour blends perfectly with our gin, not dominating it but only emphasising the floral and citrus notes.
